Bon Jovi Atlanta Philips Arena
Bon Jovi – Philips Arena – Atlanta, GA
Bon Jovi is coming to Atlanta at the Philips Arena! They definitely know how to put on a show, and they should — they’ve been doing it since the early ’80s! Despite the fact that much of their music is over 20 years old, they still draw quite the crowd. Last year’s Bon Jovi tour was ranked number one of all the tours that took place in 2010! Bon Jovi and New Jersey Roots
In the beginning, Bon Jovi consisted of four young boys from Sayreville, New Jersey. Jon in particular knew that he wanted to get into making music ever since he was 13. One small garage band led to another, and it 1983, Bon Jovi was formed. The group played several clubs around the New Jersey area doing all they could to make it big. Their break finally came when the song “Runaway” hit the airwaves in New York and started getting national airtime. The first major hit album, Slippery When Wet, was released in 1986, and their success was officially sealed.

Bon Jovi Never Slowed Down
There’s no question that Bon Jovi’s heyday was during the late ’80s after Slippery When Wet was released. That album led to their next successful album, New Jersey, and it did seem that the band could do no wrong. Many of the bands that Bon Jovi was often compared to, like Poison, Def Leppard, and Motley Crue, went through a rough time when the glam metal craze came to an end in the early ’90s, having been replaced by grunge/alternative music, but not Jon Bon Jovi. He stayed on top in spite of it all. Jon Bon Jovi lost his long, teased out locks in favor of a shorter ‘do, and released a successful solo album. In spite of his solo success, he didn’t forget the guys who helped to get him where he was. Over the years, the group has continued to tour together and produce new music. They have legions of fans – both new and old – who still snatch up concert tickets as soon as they’re available for sale. It truly is amazing that a group that came out in the ’80s could have the top tour of any given year. They even outsold Lady Gaga last year in ticket sales!
Bon Jovi just keeps right on doing what they do, and lets hope it stays that way. You would think they would be exhausted from touring last year, but no — they just keep going! The current tour launched in February, and should continue through July of this year.
