History of the Tabernacle

In 2010 the Tabernacle celebrates its 100^th birthday, and it’s widely known as one of the oldest and most recognizable event venues in Atlanta. The building began its life as the church of Pastor Leonard Gaston Broughton, who christened it the Broughton Tabernacle.

It wasn’t until 1996, when the Olympics came to Atlanta, that the building was converted into a venue for events and live music. After the games, the building was snapped up by Live Nation, a company responsible for organizing some of the biggest live music shows in the world. This has led to a continuous stream of shows by big-name artists right in the heart of the city.
