More about Deadmau5:
He’s too great to be called just a ‘DJ’. Definitely not just a DJ. Deadmau5 (pronounced as ‘dead mouse’) is a very talented dance music producer artist that uses technology at its best. His music plays around the Electronica, Neo-trance, Progressive house, Electro House and Dubstep genres. His real name is Joel Thomas Zimmerman.   When he performs on stage, he usually wear a big mouse head which I think is an upper. Oh, don’t get me wrong, he’s a very handsome man. His style (big mouse head) just really gives the scene a little spice.

If you’re wondering how he got his stage name, well, he named it after the dead mouse that he found in his computer one time and just changed the spelling a bit so it can fit well on chatrooms. Interesting, huh?  LOL

Before releasing his first album, he was able to produce a demo album titled ‘Project 56’. It contains 56 tracks. A year after that was the release of his first full-length album called ‘Get Scraped’ under the ZOOLOOK label. After this, Deadmau5 created his own record label called ‘mau5trap’. He then released his 3rd album titled ‘Random Album Title’ in September 2008. One of the notable singles on this album was ‘I Remember’ as it became number 1 on the U.S. Hot Dance Airplay Chart. It was also big in the UK as it owned the number 3 spot on the UK Dance Chart. This song also can be heard in GoldenEye 007 and DJ Hero 2 video games. How cool is that?

Deadmau5 has received a lot of awards. (Expected, right? He is one talented dude!) He won the Best Electro House Artist and Best Progressive House Artist, and Best Single for ‘Not Exactly’ at the 2008 Beatport Music Awards. He also received the Best Canadian DJ and Best Artist awards and Best Electro Track for ‘Ghosts n Stuff’ at 2010 International Dance Music Awards. At Juno Awards, he was able to receive the Dance Recording of the Year for ‘All You Ever Want’ in 2008 and ‘Random Album Title’ in 2009.
