Burn the Floor Dancing

The type of dancing done in Burn the Floor is literally a type of sport. In fact, there is a name for it. It’s called “dance sport,” and people all over the world do these dances competitively. Basically, Burn the Floor dancing is ballroom dancing, but it’s been altered to include Latin dance as well. When ballroom dance is combined with Latin dance and the music is fast and very up-tempo, you get the rare form of entertainment that Burn the Floor is all about. The people who participate in the show have been working hard to learn the dances for the greater majority of their lives, and the result is amazing. What you see on Dancing With the Stars is similar to what you see with Burn the Floor, only Burn the Floor is much more impressive!

Burn the Floor’s Ties to Popular TV Dance Shows

It probably comes as no surprise that some of the people who are involved with the hit TV dance shows Dancing With the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance also have some involvement with Burn the Floor. Janette Manrara has joined the group of dancers in Burn the Floor for the 2011 tour, and she was also one of the finalists on the fifth season of So You Think You Can Dance. Carrie Ann Inaba, who most people are familiar with because of her judging on Dancing With the Stars, has also been on the Burn the Floor production team. In addition to these two, several other alumni of both shows have and will continue to appear dancing off and on throughout the tour.
